On May 13, Wu Xinsheng, deputy director of the Training Department of Tsinghua Affiliated High School, led teachers Jicheng and Zhang Jiayu to visit Yu Jie, an alumnus of Tsinghua Affiliated High School who volunteered to teach at Yuping Primary School in Zichang County, Shaanxi Province, and had an in-depth understanding of the current situation of local primary education。

俞捷，Chinese American，Born in Beijing，Graduated from Tsinghua High School in 1976，From April 1976 to September 1978, he worked in Yaping Village, Zichang County, Shaanxi Province，1978-1982 Studied at the Beijing Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and received a bachelor's degree，1982-1985 Master's degree at Tsinghua University，1985-1989 Lecturer at the Department of Electronics, Tsinghua University，1989-1992 Studied at the University of London and received his PhD。At the end of 1992, he worked as an engineer in Silicon Valley。Today, Yu Jie put all her energy into Yaping - this piece of memory of her eventful years on the yellow land。

Since she resigned in October 2014 and came to Yea-Ping in early December, Ms. Yu Jie has been a volunteer teacher in Yea-Ping Primary School, devoting all her efforts to local children。For the sake of these children, she volunteered to teach English to the students from Grade 1 to Grade 6 of Yeha Ping Primary School without pay;For these children, she worked tirelessly to travel back and forth between Beijing and Shaanxi Province to deliver the money and materials raised to the school。If the attachment to this land and blind date is the initial driving force for Yu Jie to return to Ya Ping, then the love for children and enthusiasm for education are the inexhaustible source of Yu Jie's determination to carry out this public welfare cause to the end。

The students of Ya Ping Primary School learned that the teachers of Tsinghua High School came and specially prepared a wonderful program。During the performance, it was found that the children had washed their faces specially for the performance, but the washed faces formed a sharp color contrast with the unwashed necks。Due to the scarcity of local water resources, teachers and students are usually only able to take a shower once or twice a month, and Yu often takes a shower when she returns to Beijing to carry out fundraising activities。Through this detail, the teachers of Tsinghua High School can personally feel the extremely difficult living environment of local students。

The shortage of educational resources is also an urgent problem to be solved。There are more than 300 students and 30 teachers in Yea-Ping Primary School from preschool to Grade 6. Ms. Yu Jie teaches English classes from Grade 1 to Grade 6。In addition to the lack of teacher resources, modern teaching facilities are in short supply, especially the students' computers and monitors are very old and need to be updated。
